Hi, I'm Savannah!

Based in Bellingham, Washington;
with roots in Stockholm, Sweden.

I came up with "The Primal Revolution" in 2013, & have since been fine-tuning what that actually means to me.

The definition is always evolving, but at the core, I am unravelling the layers of the ultimate human experience.

What makes us human, why does it matter, & how do we get there?

See you on the road,

Tree pose with my tree friend. Call him Larch. 🍂

Do hard things. Don't die.

Hard things are the peanut butter to my jam (I like them a lot 🤭).

This weekend, I climbed over 1,000 feet of elevation in 2 miles (& back) with more than 50lb on my back. The weekend we took this picture, we climbed +3,000 feet & hiked over 15 miles - camping in freezing temperatures.

My usual perspective when it comes to doing hard things is that once you do them, they get easier.

Which is why my experience substituting @lacykemp at @bellinghamtreehouseyoga the last several months has been a new one.

Lacy asked me in the springtime if I had taught yoga before (I had not) & if I might substitute during her travels.

I thought about it for a day & decided: why not?

There are a lot of reasons to “why not” when it comes to doing hard things. Hard things are… well, hard, you know? They make us uncomfortable.

I said yes & waves of “I can do this!” & “oh shit what am I doing!” spun me through a few emotional wash cycles. 😃😵‍💫😊😳😁🤮

I prepared & over-prepared. I let it consume me. I.. did not handle the unknown super well.

I showed up. I stepped into my confident shoes. I led a flow.

I survived. I didn’t die. I did a hard thing.

The story of doing hard things is evergreen because that was 2 seasons ago, & I still get nervous every time. Even though I coach regularly, there’s something about leading yoga that terrifies me.

A few weeks ago, Lacy asked me again. This time, something shifted. I let go of perfectionism & focused on creating a flow from a place of ease. I decided: I'll create a flow based on what *I* need right now.

Rather than being consumed by stress the entire day, I trusted myself to hold space & lead from a place of confidence.

I had enough consistency under my belt - proof that I wouldn’t die - that I had finally built a foundation of trust with myself. My body would lead the way - connecting playful movements to explore creativity in motion.

Which is to say: Sometimes things don't get easier right away. That doesn't mean that you should stop trying.

Leaning toward challenges is where we grow.

I believe in magic. And love. Both vulnerable, bot I believe in magic. And love. Both vulnerable, both delicate in the world we live in.

My belief in magic is one of the things I love most about myself, & one of the easiest to become polluted by external variables. I have to be aligned on purpose to protect it. It persists. I always come back to my witchy ways.

Just as there wouldn’t be a world without love, the world would be incredibly bleak without magic.

I used to be afraid that the world would harden me, & though I have come face to face with demons countless times, my belief system stubbornly stands tall.

It’s with that stubbornness that I believe that:

🌱 Every single person has seeds of possibility planted inside of themselves.

When we water and fertilise those seeds, our lives bloom into our dreams.

But, more often than not - we don’t know what fertiliser we need, how frequent a watering, how porous our soil, the saturation of sunshine. Before we can nurture our roots to facilitate growth, we must turn our attention inward with curiosity.

What flower am I?

Yes, we can all work our asses off to eventually “Bloom where you are planted,” but if we turn our gaze inward we might bring a few nuggets of wisdom to the surface, inviting more ease into the process.

When we turn our gaze inward, we empower ourselves with information. We stop aimlessly throwing spaghetti at walls to see what will stick, & find out what actually works for us.

With focused attention & powerful questions backed by curiosity, we take back our lives to shape them as we want.

Hint: finding your magical ingredients may look nothing like you were told, or match those around you.

Perhaps you’ve been a succulent raised in the rainforest, or a wisteria told you were supposed to bloom into a lilac. You’ve been overwatered or underexposed to sunlight, missing vital nutrients to make your colors truly pop - simply because you never knew what would make those seeds of possibility explode into bursts of color.

When we slow down, we create space to practice cultivating authenticity to then curate lives lived fully on purpose.

Where can you hit pause today?

New recipe, just in time for soup season! Roaste New recipe, just in time for soup season!

Roasted Heirloom Tomato Soup, inspired by the 2lb boxes at @traderjoes 🍅

I’ve made plenty of tomato soup - a childhood favourite when served with a toasty grilled cheese sandwich (pre-paleo life 😉). Most recipes include cream, or a coconut cream substitute as a lactose-free replacement… buuuuut…. This one is super creamy without any cream-like substance added.

If you are one of the 0.05% of the population that reads stories that go with recipes, I also share a bit about one of the biggest lessons I’ve been learning integrating into the US after living in Europe most of the past decade: breaking the pattern of hopping on planes, and sitting through the discomfort of unhappiness… facilitating transformation and growth in ways I was stunting with constant uprooting.

And if you’re not one of those 0.05%… keep scrolling for the delicious recipe at the end! 🤤

Pleasure is a practice. 🧘🏼‍♀️ One of Pleasure is a practice. 🧘🏼‍♀️

One of the foundational pillars I live and coach, is the pillar of Pleasure. We often associate pleasure with a shared se🥨ual experience, but it can be a solo adventure - and one that extends beyond the sheets.

For some, pleasure is food. For others, dry brushing the skin. Inhaling deep breaths of mountain air. Feeling dewy grass beneath naked feet.

Pleasure, to me, is synonymous with a poetic approach to life: feeling into small details saturated in full presence.

Coming back beneath the sheets: pleasure is a practice. Conventional relationships are widely built on a narrative that we need to turn each other on, when in fact it’s our responsibility to turn ourselves on. If we can’t build arousal from within, how can we expect our partner to?

My pleasure blooms from alone time, solitude, nature, and self-care rituals.

I notice the power of potency most when the practice is neglected. Mirror work, gua sha, dry brushing, journaling, , self-tying Shibari sessions with myself, quiet walks in the woods. They all add up to non-negotiable maintenance in nurturing the relationship with myself.

Neglect looks like a fully booked schedule, distractions, holding my breath… eventually leading to a bone-deep numbness and swift evacuation from my body.

Bringing alone time and intentional touch into my practice is a loving invitation back into my body - which is why I love Foria products.

Awaken Arousal oil encourages a deeper surrender to the self, and activates the senses one layer deeper with a delicious scent of cinnamon (it’s edible too 😉).

And with that…

With World Mental Health Day this week, I’ve bee With World Mental Health Day this week, I’ve been looking over some of my writings on the topic I did for Rekyl Atlet once upon a time.

No matter what time passes, what country I’m in, or who the client is, my passion for mental health awareness is at the center of everything. 🫶🏻

The question I explored is:

👉🏻 How do we begin to cultivate a stronger mindset, when we are prone to getting stuck in negative thought loops & anxiety?

One solution is to create space between our Self and our thoughts. Because in the end, we are not our thoughts. We are not our emotions. Neither of those define us.

An easy way to visualize this is if we are the landscape, our thoughts come and go like clouds.

At our core, we can be considered (somewhat) constant. Both thoughts and emotions pass by. Sometimes a raging storm, and other times as little more than a fleeting cloud between us and the sun.

By creating space between our Self and our thoughts, we become a Witness to them. We see them for what they are, but we don’t get trapped in them. We hold a healthy boundary.

It takes time and patience, because while it may be simple, it is not easy.

Step 1 - Begin to pay attention to your breath. When thoughts and feelings come up with anxiety, breathe deeply into your belly through your nose. Creating deeper breaths will calm your nervous system and drop you down into your body, away from your thoughts.

Step 2 - Try practicing active meditations. What better place to find stillness in your mind than in the forest? Active meditations are easier to get into, because sometimes our minds can feel intimidating. When we are incorporating movement into a meditation while we create that thought space, we can find comfort. Take a walk in the woods, go for a long swim, or crochet/knit/craft.

Step 3 - Begin practicing seated meditations. When you feel like you’re ready, find some guided meditations to take you our of your mind. Sit in stillness, observe your thoughts… And let your stress dissolve.

It takes time, patience, & practice…

With consistency, you’ll build your resilience to dance through the storms.

Soft fabrics that caress the skin, paleo baking, f Soft fabrics that caress the skin, paleo baking, flowers, writing, art…

In other words: Balance.

What else do you need?

One of my zones of genius that I’ve always taken for granted is sacred space design.

I absolutely love weaving fabrics and textures and colors together. Taking time and patience to find elements that complement one another. Zooming in on potent attention to detail to make a space feel like a warm hug - even more important as temperatures drop and more time is spent at home.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to me, because with food photography as my main commercial work, connecting elements in aesthetic ways is at the core of my art.

And art has a way of seeping into your life.

One of the most important places is my #MorningCoffee corner - a soft, inviting space to slowly unfold into the day.

One of my coaches once suggested the idea that simply BEing in a consciously curated space can give healing benefits to your nervous system, and beyond.

These are a few of my favourite things to create your own sacred space for morning ritual:

• Soft fabrics (or no fabrics!) to envelope around your skin.

• A mirror or two to support meeting yourself in mirror work.

• String of lights with a soft, warm color tone.

• Plants plants plants 🌱! My favorite is a busty monstera.

• Dried flowers - bringing pops of undying color. 🎨

• A journal for recording reflections. ✏️

• A pouf and rug for aesthetics and comfort.

• Candles and incense to active the sense of smell.

What is your most sentimental piece your adorn your space with? ☺️

Did you know⁉️ N🫶🏻de photography is an Did you know⁉️
N🫶🏻de photography is an extreme sport.

Summer unfolding into cooler months means one thing: n🫶🏻de photography season is kicking off!

Summer has never been my season. With my hard drives organized by month, it’s easy to see that this reflects in creative process. There are months that make a debut every year, and gaping holes (though not empty - but highlighting food, Shibari, and adventure).

My work moves through seasons. There is a season for my n🫶🏻de art, life coaching, and recipe development. There are seasons for Shibari. There are seasons when morning coffee practices are more potent and powerful.

Just like outdoor photo shoots.

I’ve created self portraits during summer months, but they never feel the same. It feels easy to create something pretty when the temperature is the same between layers of clothes.

What I love most about the artistic process is the challenge, the extremes.

I don’t feel as inspired to make art laying across a couch, wrapped in soft fabric (though there is beauty there). Like everything in life, the intensity makes me feel most alive.

In this moment, I had seen the ice floes beginning to break apart and float through Stockholm and I developed a craving for bodies draped across frozen ice.

When it comes to self portrait work, water is not my comfort zone. It’s challenging and risky - amplified by a million with rivers of ice.

Try as I might, I couldn’t find anyone willing to model for me, so I teamed up with a photographer friend to take the plunge.

This set of photos is still some of my favourite, and I can’t wait to find more ice floes to get naked with.

If you know any in the PNW or BC please let me know! 😍

To be naked for no one but yourself is an otherwor To be naked for no one but yourself is an otherworldly experience.

Last week, a PT client asked me - “why would someone want naked pictures of themselves?”

Internally, I laughed at my own ignorance of the simple fact that my intense devotion to being naked is not aligned with what most people consider “normal”. It’s such a natural way of being that I forget to return to the beginner’s mindset.

Because I’ve been fortunate along my journey to A) not care what people think, & B) have amazing friends who also like to be naked. Thereby making it normal.

It’s no secret that my art is about normalising nakedness, which in part means de-se🥨ualising the human body.

Because, for many, two of the most prominent things that come to mind when thinking of naked photos are p*rn & boudoir.

The Beast Goddess Method is neither.

It is pure, innocent, & internally driven. A non-judgmental space to express your authentic Self, peeling back layers that dim your radiance.

It is a celebration of you & your relationship to your body - the home that you sculpt every day with sweat & iron, discipline & nutrition, devotion & self-respect.

To capture photos of your beautiful body is the first process of creating art to proudly adorn your walls.

But beyond that final product, it’s about the experience.

Unfiltered freedom wraps around your skin when you shed the fabric from your shoulders & surrender to the natural world around you.

Feedback from clients echoes that there is a healing power in being witnessed by the gaze of a non-lover: naked in the natural environment & playing with the elements of the landscape.

So often we traverse the planet with layers of separation between us: shoes, socks, yoga mat, gloves, umbrellas, vehicles.

But how often do we curl our toes into her earth, hug a tree with the bark digging into our chests, feel the roughness of rock under our shins, raindrops on the small of our back?

To be playful invites us back to the innocence of childhood, a time of neutrally heightened intuition. Through movement in nature, we reconnect with our gut feeling and with our core Self.

Introducing my new “Look Better Naked” 3 month Introducing my new “Look Better Naked” 3 month (remote) coaching program. 🌷🥳

Though I have always been an athlete of some kind, the start of my fitness journey began when I walked by a gym on my way to class during my first months at university.

The sign said “Look Better Naked” and the training method was something called CrossFit.

At the time, I had a 24/7 gym membership I never used. (Sound familiar?) I had no idea how to transfer my athletic history in team sports to train myself in effective and functional ways.

I didn’t know exactly what I was getting into - only that my ego desperately wanted to look good naked, and that the insanely high price of membership would force me to show up to every single class.

@traverboehm, @emalzone, and @baker_built_13 introduced me to the world of Olympic weightlifting and Paleo - amongst other things.

It’s been 14 years since I walked through those doors, and the foundation of training and nutrition I learned then has proven to be effective and sustainable.

And that’s why I’m opening up a one-on-one 3 month training program for anyone who has been frustrated with trendy fad diets, plateaus, and programs that simply aren’t sustainable.

We work together to get clear on your goals across all the areas of your life, and I put together a custom training program that fits those goals - both physical training you can do at home or at your gym, as well as nutrition featuring delicious recipes. We track other habits in your life, like sleep and stress management - and for anywhere you’re getting stuck, I bring in my life coaching tools to break through those walls with you.

Yes, we start with the ego, but everything we do builds self discipline, intrinsic goals, and habits that support the whole of your life. Looking better naked started me down this path, and it can be the first step of yours.

Besides - our bodies are pieces of art. ☺️

If you’re ready, send me a message & we’ll schedule a consult. 🤩

Everything is on zoom! I miss my international clients. 🌍
